Well, it's almost here!! As I posted in the 'new cd coming soon' topic, there are already two tracks on the internet to listen to. To be honest, the first 30 seconds of my first listening, I didn't like. :o( But I've listened a few more times since then.
I have to walk past a CD store every day, and I haven't seen any advertisements for her new CD. However, the Jay CHou posters went up a few days before release, FIR was well in advance, Fish Leong went up the day the CD arrived in the store... Hopefully they'll have a huge poster of Karen when the CD arrives :o) :o)

I bought it on Friday when it's fresh and HOT!
Very few typical Karen-style love songs; a very faithful "Karen Mok" version rather.
I really like it, and, though a tad, I don't wanna worry about how the album might go off from here.

How come I'm just across the water from you and our local CD store is telling me they don't have it yet. :o( Actually, on Saturday they tried to tell me that the 'new' one was 如果没有你！！My friend said that CDs here don't get released to all cities at the same time, and that Beijing and Shanghai will have it first. I still pass the CD store every day to check though haha
So, I've still only heard the two songs from the link I posted last week.
Hey Tiff--I think we're the only ones on here right now. Why is everybody so quiet???

The album is still not out in Singapore! Usually we will get the albums on the same day as Taiwan, or at most one day later. But none of the CD shops seems to know that Karen has a new album, and even Sony BMG Singapore couldn't tell me when her album will be released here.......... Seems they're not bothering about the Singapore market........!!
I'm not happy with Sony!! They focus too much on the other singers and not on Karen!! -

I went to the local CD store again today, only to be told yet again that Karen doesn't have a new CD, that the most recent CD is 如果没有你。 So, they either don't know that Karen has a new CD out, or they're just trying to fool me into buying the old one until they get the new one instore. There was lots of 'no, I want the new one', 'there isn't a new one' 'yes there is', 'no, this is the last one', 'no there's a new one'...this went on for longer than it should have haha
I haven't heard anything here, haven't seen her on the front of a music magazine etc.
There was a karaoke contest last weekend at my university and quite a few people sang Karen's songs haha Cool! They didn't sing them in tune, but at least they sang them haha -

(sigh) Don't know what to say...I hardly have seen ANY promotion on TV or elsewhere.
Not even a poster in the CD stores.
It's awful.
I think you'll love this album. Very Karen Mok!
I can't live a day without listening to it ever since I got the record.
Uh...I wish you could come to the..well...more like showcase I guess.
Maybe I can ask Karen for a autograph for you. =) Who knows!? -

Wed, December 5, 2007 - 4:46 AMI just got the CD. :o) That's the good news. The not so good news is that I had to go to a larger CD store to find it. I checked the 'new release' section and there was no sign of the cd. I had to ask for it and they took me to the section. It had just been put straight into the section with the older CDs and they only had a couple of copies. No posters, nothing to say 'Karen Mok has a new CD!!!!'

I exchange two tickets with one album and the staff didn't even mark on the album whatsoever.
It's not a big deal but what if someone is meant to stock all the tickets then sell them?!
It's ridiculous.
Anyway, if you are able to fly over I do have an extra ticket.
If not, haha...I'll ask my mom to go with me. -

Fri, December 7, 2007 - 5:55 PMThe songs are not very commercialised..... but the album is definitely VERY Karen!! Think maybe she wants to make an album that is really her since she mentioned that it could be her last album :(
I like tracks 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 & 10 so far...... -

Oh--I haven't heard any more news about the film I saw listed in my film magazine the other month. Obviously we know it's been made as they had film stills printed in the magazine. Has anybody else heard anything???
I seem to be playing tracks 6 and 7 more than the others. I love the others too, but I rarely have enough time to listen to the whole cd. :o( -

The CD is almost invisible here. I thought that living in China when Karen had a new cd out would be amazing but I may as well still be living in England!! (Except that if I was I wouldn't hear her old songs playing as I walked past shops-I wouldn't see her picture everywhere advertising everthing from cameras to shoes) So, just because her cd is invisible in the shops, just because her record company haven't done anything to promote it, doesn't mean we have to remain silent as well! -

Karen's management team are letting her down badly, but then I suppose they must be making their money, otherwise they'd have her doing more promotional things..........
When will we see the english album????? Karen, let's fire it up, there's a big market of Karen fans out here in the rest of the world -

Fri, February 22, 2008 - 7:21 AMyou know what, it occurred to me just the other day that Karen must, might, have already done an English album of some sort.
See, in So Close, there's her singing Close to You, and in around 2003 or 4 or 5, another cover of IF (from Bread, I guess) was included in a tv show's OST. Only Sony "froze" her after <X> .
Maybe that's my fantasia.

Fri, March 7, 2008 - 1:28 AMI was in Beijing and saw Karen's image everywhere. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with the new CD, only her advertisments for Canon. And in Hong Kong I saw a few large posters but again, this time for epilepsy, not her music.
I never saw any publicity for the CD on television. I never saw it being pushed in any stores. It's a shame. If this is her last CD, then why not use that information to further promote the CD, to build up some excitement. I hope it isn't her last CD. I want more. :o)
